Overview
SMM manufactures electrolytic copper by refining copper concentrate mainly imported from South American countries in flash furnaces controlled by an online computer in the Toyo Smelter & Refinery, which is refined to 99.99% purity or higher after going through the converter, refining furnace, and electrolytic plant. Since our electrolytic copper is superior in electric conductivity and workability, it can be used for a wide array of applications, from cutting-edge electronics parts to various electric wires, including general purpose wire. Additionally, due to its superior thermal conductivity coupled with superior workability, it is also used for various copper alloy fabricated products, including copper pipes for air conditioners. It is also heavily used for plated alloys aiming for a high-class image of metals.

SMM slag sand (granulated copper slag) is made by crushing slag generated in the copper refining process into a sandy condition using running water. Having iron and silicic acid as its main components, it is a physically stable product of consistent quality.

Slag Powder
Overview
SMM slag powder (iron fine powder) is a product consisting of iron and silicic acid, which remains after cooling down, and crushing converter slag generated during the copper refining process and recovery of copper by means of floatation. It hardens well when it dries and is appropriate as a cement material or construction material.

Sodium Hydrogensulfite

Overview
Sodium hydrogensulfite is manufactured by blowing SO2 from non-ferrous metal smelting exhaust gas into a caustic soda solution to cause a reaction between them and filtrating them.

Overview
Gypsum is dihydrate gypsum in white powder form. Dihydrate gypsum is produced by adding two molecules of water of crystallization to the composition of calcium sulfate, which is a by-product of copper refining.

Thallium

Thallium
Overview
Thallium has been attracting attention for its usage in optical lenses of copying machines and optical fiber systems, etc., and it is a prime example of a rare metal, extremely small amounts of it being contained in lead and zinc. It is very difficult to extract high-purity thallium; therefore, there are only a few manufacturers of thallium in the world.
