Sumitomo Metal Mining Signs Agreement with Nyangumarta Warrarn Aboriginal Corporation to Advance the Winu Copper-Gold Project

Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo, TSE: 5713) announces that SMM Perth Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sumitomo Metal Mining, together with its joint venture partner, Rio Tinto Winu Pty Limited, have signed a Project Agreement with the Nyangumarta Warrarn Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (NWAC), to advance the proposed Winu copper-gold project located on Nyangumarta Country in Western Australia. This marks a major milestone in the development of a long-term relationship with the Nyangumarta People and advances the project towards development of the mine.
