In accordance with the Business and Human Rights Initiatives Process1, we conduct due diligence on our business partners (suppliers) through the raw material procurement staff of each business division, the Purchasing Department, and each business site with the aim of building a sustainable supply chain. The Sustainability Department, the secretariat of the Human Rights Subcommittee, collaborates and cooperates with these efforts.
In particular, the “Responsible Mineral Sourcing” Working Group, which makes decisions on important matters related to mineral sourcing, has been established under the Sustainability Committee to address responsible mineral sourcing throughout the entire supply chain.
In addition, we use the platform of the Japan Center for Engagement and Remedy on Business and Human Rights (JaCER)2 as a grievance mechanism.
Through our due diligence and grievance mechanisms, we have not identified any business partners (suppliers) at risk with respect to discrimination, freedom of association, the right to collective bargaining, or child or forced labor.
