Establishment and announcement of SMM Group Responsible Sourcing Policy (Currently: Sustainability Sourcing Policy)

On April 1, 2020, the SMM group established and announced the “SMM Group Responsible Sourcing Policy (Currently: Sumitomo Metal Mining Group’s Sustainability Sourcing Policy)”.
This policy is to clarify the SMM Group’s stance and its aim of creating a sustainable supply chain with consideration to societal problems like human rights and the environment across the whole of our sourcing activities, not just in mineral sourcing.
The SMM Group has been strictly following its own “Code of Conduct”,“Policy on Human Rights”, and other policies, and we are hoping that our business partners, too, will abide by them. In addition, we ask our partners to expand the initiative to their customers as well, so that the entire supply chain can be involved.
