Sumitomo Metal Mining Co., Ltd. announces that it has resolved, at the meeting of the Board of Directors as of today, to repurchase its own shares pursuant to the Article 156 of the Companies Act of Japan, as applied pursuant to paragraph 3 of Article 165 of the act.
