Overview
Green Sand is an artificial sand product made by granulating slag through water granulation during ferronickel smelting. It is suitable for use as a flux in the production of iron and steel and ferroalloys utilizing MgO and SiO2, as a raw material for fertilizer, as well as for port civil engineering materials such as caisson backfill, ground improvement materials, and also as fine aggregate for asphalt in road base layers and as fine aggregate for concrete.

Quality characteristics
1. Chemical Properties
Chemical composition
The main components are silica (SiO2) and magnesia oxide (MgO). Other components are alumina (Al2O3), calcium oxide (CaO), ferrous oxide (FeO), etc. Other minor components are also components that are contained in natural rocks, etc.
Table-1 Analytical value
| Components | % |
|---|---|
| Fe | 5-10 |
| MgO | 28-38 |
| SiO2 | 46-58 |
| CaO | 0.1-0.8 |
| Al2O3 | 1.5-3.0 |
